- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and specific learning needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction using specialized teaching techniques and strategies to help students overcome challenges.
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction with peers.
- Track and document student progress regularly through ongoing assessments and providing timely updates to parents and relevant staff.
- Work closely and communicate effectively with teachers, parents and support staff to ensure a cohesive support system.
- Patience, empathy, adaptability, strong communication (verbal and written), organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
- Prior experience working with young children with diverse learning needs, such as autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
