A National Center for Health Statistics study discovered that adolescents who use screens for 4 or more hours a day are more likely to have anxiety (27.1%) and depression (25.9%) symptoms than adolescents who use screens less than 4 hours a day.
Another study conducted by the Natural Health Research Institute identified that children and adolescents who are exposed to screens for more than seven hours per day are twice as likely to have been diagnosed with anxiety or depression compared to those who use screens for just an hour a day.
