Why Experiential Learning Is the Future of Education

Did you know that we tend to remember only about 20% of what we read after three days? That means traditional methods of just reading textbooks may not be enough for us to truly learn and keep that learning.

Here at The Manthan School, we believe that learning should be an adventure, something you do, not only something you hear or read. Experiential learning (or learning by doing) is exactly that and it inspires learners to engage, explore, and grow! Read on to find out why we believe that experiential learning is the future of education!

1. Learning happens faster when you do it

If you’ve ever memorised facts for a test, only to forget them soon after, you’ll know how frustrating it feels. Experiential learning flips that: you don’t simply read or listen, you act. When you are trying something, making decisions, or solving problems, you understand faster and remember longer.  At our school, we turn classrooms into places where kids experiment, build, ask questions and discover.

2. Mistakes are okay; it’s safe to try

Everyone learns by making mistakes, right? Experiential learning creates a safe space where students can try things, test ideas, fall (metaphorically) and get back up. It’s like being at a fun playground where you explore, you learn, you grow. Every mistake becomes a stepping stone to success and builds confidence to try again. At The Manthan School, we remind our students that failure isn’t the opposite of learning; it’s a part of it.

3. Bridges the gap between theory and real life

You might think: “When will I use this in real life?” That’s a valid question and the answers come from experiential learning. You are not simply reading about how something works; you are actually doing it. You are applying it. You are testing it. That connection from concept to real application is powerful. It helps you remember not just the words, but the meaning behind them.

4. Builds the right mindset

Some things can’t be learned simply by reading a book. For example, leadership, teamwork, and creativity. One wise person once said, “Leadership, like swimming, cannot be learned by reading about it.” At The Manthan School, we believe learners should do, collaborate, and lead so that their mindset changes. They move from “I know about it” to “I can do it”.

5. Keeps you engaged and excited

Sitting still and listening for long periods? That’s boring for many of us. However, when you are engaged in things like working in a team, solving a puzzle, or creating something, the energy builds. Experiential learning is learning through interaction. Experiential learning is interactive. It draws you in. It invites you to take ownership. At The Manthan School, our days are full of activity including discussions, hands-on activities, and group projects. And that makes learning fun.

6. Lets you learn in your own way

Every student is different. Some learn by seeing, some by doing, some by exploring. Experiential learning says: we will find a path that works for you. At our school, we combine technology, creative tasks, outdoor learning and more so you learn at your pace, in your style. The classroom becomes flexible, not rigid.

7. Prepares you for the future

The world is changing fast, jobs, ideas, skills all shifting. It’s no longer enough to just memorise. You need to think, adapt, create. Experiential learning builds those skills. At The Manthan School, we believe in preparing you not just for exams, but for life. When you engage in real tasks, you’re practising the skills you’ll need in the future.

8. Makes learning enjoyable

In the end, the most meaningful learning takes place when you’re inspired, excited, and engaged. Experiential learning makes school a place you look forward to. You explore, you ask, you fail and you succeed and each step is a step forward.

We at The Manthan School, Greater Noida, counted among the best schools in Greater Noida West, are proud to bring experiential learning into everything we do. Be it science labs, art workshops, outdoor excursions, technological challenges, or group collaboration tasks, our aim remains simple: we intend to allow students to experience, explore and evolve.

Learning is not only about reading or memorising but it is about doing, thinking, reflecting and growing. If you learn by doing, you are prepared and empowered.
