This thought-provoking quote perfectly captures the spirit of our recent visit to the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Delhi.
Our students explored the fascinating world of units and measurements at NPL – India’s leading institute for physical standards. The experience was far from a typical lesson; it was an immersive journey into the science that supports everything from electronics to weather forecasting.
The tour began with an introduction to NPL’s mission and was followed by visits to cutting-edge laboratories. At the LED and diode lab, students witnessed how precision in voltage and current measurements is vital for assessing the performance of light-emitting devices. In the meteorological lab, students saw how instruments that measure temperature, pressure, and humidity are calibrated with extreme accuracy.
This educational tour was not just informative but also inspiring. It reminded us that science is not confined to textbooks; it thrives in the labs, tools, and standards that shape the world around us.
