To celebrate National Handloom Day, Fashion Studies Department students visited the National Crafts Museum in New Delhi. The visit was intended to help them learn and appreciate traditional Indian crafts and textiles. They looked into traditional crafts like woodworking, weaving, printing, dyeing, dhokra and paper mache, as well as textiles such as brocade, Jamdani, Baluchari, and Ikat. They participated in hands-on activities such as block printing and saw a weaving demonstration. This excursion provided important insights into traditional Indian crafts and textiles, helping the students improve their practical skills and appreciation for cultural heritage.
