A congregation of Gandhians and school children assembled at Gandhi Smriti where the apostle of non-violence was shot dead on January 30, 1948, for a musical tribute. Bapu was remembered on his 72nd anniversary of martyrdom in all its grandeur by sangeet maestro Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj with Ramdhun. An inter-faith prayer meeting and a musical tribute by around 500 children from various schools out of which 15 students from our school paid homage to the Father of the Nation. The atmosphere reverberated with mellifluous bhajans.
The evening was presided by honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and a host of other dignitaries.
