With this dream in their eyes, 12 students attended a five-day Internship at IMS Design and Innovation Academy, Noida on The Design Process behind the Cascades by Mr. Ankur Chhabra (Head of Design, HOD Fashion Design Head, IMS, Noida)
The internship started with an explanation of the Methodology of research and the importance of Sustainable clothing. Then the process of creating an Inspiration Board was explained to the students.
Students were asked to create an inspiration Board using Primary and secondary research methods. Later students designed a dress based on the inspiration board
The students were taught different techniques of Cascading using circles and Cascading using a U shape with Muslin Fabric on Dress form.
Students created a dress on the dress form using Cascading technique and showcased their creations.
It was indeed a great learning experience for the students as they learned the Methodology of research, Importance of Sustainable Fashion, created inspiration boards, and learned various techniques of Cascading and Converting a dress on paper into a draped garment on dress form using any technique of Cascading.
