“The aim of a storyteller is not to tell us how to think but to give us questions to think upon.”
To foster the skill of listening, a storytelling session by Ms. Simi Srivastava, a popular storyteller and founder of “Kathashala”, was organised for the students of Grade Hatchlings to 4. Her story telling skills brought forth the fact that story telling is a shared experience among equals in which the audience is just as active a participant as the storyteller. The way she narrated the stories left everyone spellbound. Listening with rapt attention, children were exposed to the basics of theatrical movements, voice modulation and the rhythm of storytelling. Overall, it was a great learning experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by the children.
