‘That’s the thing about books, they let you travel without moving your feet’
If we talk about literacy, we have to talk about how to enhance our children’s mastery over the tools needed to live intelligent, creative and involved lives. Books magically meet this purpose. Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve. They contribute in improving our quality of life.
The Manthan School with immense pride has launched its MANTHAN DIGITAL LIBRARY. This initiative is taken to give children another space to learn. We, at The Manthan School, are excited about the end result of this process, which will lead to enhanced research. It will also lead to greater access to virtual information resources for our students. It will provide them with a collection of information that is both digitized and organized, easily accessible from anywhere.
The event was inaugurated by the director of The Manthan School, Ms. Divya Jain. Mr. Sanjiv Jaiswal, a story weaver with the Pratham Book stories, threw some light on the present state of education. Mr. Atul Sethi, a Bureau chief journalist from Times of India and a famous children’s writer, talked about the various other benefits related to reading.
Our Manthanite Arya Bharadwaj from grade 10, Shanaya Rajput of Grade 3 and Daksh Prajapati of Grade 5 took us to the world of imagination by enacting the famous characters from the storybooks.
Our respected principal ma’am, Ms. Poonam Kumar Mendiratta enlightened us with her thoughts on reading. The librarian, Ms. Sonia Myrtle Gerald, expressed her gratitude towards the school management for making this herculean task possible.
Last but not the least, Mr. Vineet Panchhi, the renowned Media figure shared his thoughts on how reading can spark the imagination of young minds. He insisted that there should be a library however small but a reading space should be there in every home.
Books are important for the mind, heart and soul. The power found between the pages is formidable. The Manthan School will never leave any stone unturned to strengthen the kids with this power.
