UP state-level conference in Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) to commemorate India’s assuming Presidency of G20 was organized at our school. The morning was graced by Ms. Urmila, Joint Secretary CBSE, Sh Satya Narayan Sahu former OSD to the President, Former Director PMO, and Former Joint Secretary Rajya Sabha Secretariat. Various Principals from many schools from Gautam Budha Nagar, and around along with educators, policymakers, researchers and experts in the field of <\/a>education were present to discuss and explore strategies for promoting foundational literacy and numeracy skills. The director of the School Ms. Divya Jain, COO Ms. Puja Khurana and the principal Ms. Poonam Kumar Mendiratta also graced the occasion. Principal Ms. Poonam Kumar Mendiratta addressed the gathering and laid emphasis on the relevance of FLN in new India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural ceremony featured some wonderful presentations by the students. The conference commenced with thought-provoking keynote speeches by Ms. Urmila, Joint Secretary, CBSE who laid emphasis on the G20 presidency and CBSE’s role in propagating FLN to grass root levels. Sh. Satya Narayan Sahu spoke on the relevance of one nation and the vision of India to shine on a global platform by staying anchored in the roots of our rich culture. Ms. Shweta Talwar (Teacher Trainer) gave a gist of what exactly is FLN and how schools can incorporate various activities to make it learning and engaging for foundational years. Panel discussions fueled engaging conversations on key topics such as curriculum design, pedagogy, assessment, inclusivity, and the integration of technology in FLN. Experts delved into the challenges and opportunities faced in implementing FLN initiatives and shared valuable insights on how to effectively address these issues. The discussions centered on promoting student-centered learning approaches that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among learners. The panelists comprised various Principals and educators from across the schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interactive workshops provided participants with practical strategies and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance foundational literacy and numeracy skills in their classrooms. Educators eagerly participated in hands-on activities, embracing new techniques to make learning more engaging and meaningful for their students. The workshops emphasized the importance of active student participation and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key highlights of the conference were NIPUN MELA, the FLN technology exhibition, FLN stations, teaching through puppetry, a painting competition, a quiz on G20, Book fair and an awareness programme for the parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FLN conference stands as a testament to the dedication and passion of educators and stakeholders in transforming education to empower students for a brighter future. By focusing on foundational literacy and numeracy, this conference has set the stage for comprehensive education reform that will benefit students across Uttar Pradesh and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
